About the Composer

As my mom would often tell me, I started playing the piano as soon as I could reach the keys. Almost immediately, I began playing by ear and creating my own compositions.

At age six, I discovered a new love — I began taking dance lessons and immediately fell in love with ballet. Of course, I dreamed of someday becoming a famous ballerina. Weekly tap, jazz, and ballet classes became part of my life, and I went on to study dance in college, earning a BFA in Theater and Dance Performance from Northern Illinois University. While earning my degree in dance, I was able to perform in some of by favorite ballets including giselle and the nutcracker. I was also able to take classes in music theory and composition, and could often be found playing a piano in one of the tiny practice rooms provided by the music department.

throughout my life I have maintained a love of ballet technique and went on to enjoy a career as a dance instructor and choreographer for many years. My first two albums of music for ballet class are a natural combination of my love for dance and the music that inspires it.

In recent years, I have also become a licensed massage therapist and myofascial release practitioner. so it was a natural process for me to create music designed specifically for massage and bodywork. I believe strongly in the connection of the body, mind, and spirit, and in the powerful healing effect of music that reaches us on an emotional and even a spiritual level. My Album titled A Body at Rest: Music for Massage and Relaxation is meant to bring peace and healing not only to the body but also to the mind and spirit. As I use this relaxing music in my own practice, I find that I am calm and focused, and more connected with my work and with my patients.

My most recent album titled What the storm leaves behind is a collection of solo piano songs written throughout my life. I have experienced many storms in my life, and this album reflects the full range of emotions i have experienced, from heartbreak to Joy and hope for the future. My hope is that this music will help the listener connect with their own inner landscape, not only the emotional Storms, but the beauty, wisdom and resilience of what the storm leaves behind.
